These spirit boards were all the rage way back in the 1800's. A part of the Spiritualism Movement where a fascination with the great beyond and if the possibility existed to contact the dearly departed. This spirit board is magnetized so you can leave the planchette positioned on the board.
Hand assembled layered acrylic, painted on the etched areas, two magnets are contained within this brooch and a brooch finding on rear.
