CHRISTMAS 2019 BROOCHES

Christmas Christmas 2019 Christmas Brooch Christmas Brooches

If you know me, you know I'm a sucker for Christmas!

I love the food, I love the decorations (even the ones in the shopping centres), I love the music, I love the people who decorate their houses with fairy lights, I love the smell of the fresh tree we buy, I love the warmer weather. I love love love this time of the year.

Creating Christmas brooches was another thing I love! I had so many cool ideas this year (well...every year!) but it really comes down to time. How much time I have to create the artwork and then how much time I have to make the actual brooches.

I had a lot of fun choosing at the very last minute to create an Australian Snowman. It was a very warm day and having my studio on a 2nd floor means it gets warm in there by the end of the day and I was thinking about doing a snowman brooch and thought that it would end up melt in this heat...OOOHHH AN AUSSIE MELTED SNOWMAN BROOCH WOULD BE SOOOO COOOOOOL. This little idea evolved into the very popular Australian Snowman brooch. All the bits are the the jar, a bit of melted white snow (which is hard to see on the white background of the product pic), scarf, top hat, stick arms, carrot nose, black coal buttons and two beady little eyes.

I have also been inspired by The Polar Express movie and created the Believe Bell Brooch that has a real little bell on the inside of the brooch - which of course only true believers can hear when it rings!

My incredibly popular Freshly Baked Gingerbread Tray brooch is back again this year and has a sister brooch, the Mixed Gingerbread Tray. I know when I bake Gingerbread Cookies with my kids we use all the cookie cutters. The tree, candy cane, love heart, snowflake and stars. I have a huge collection of cutters and it's just as much fun decorating as it is eating them. So for the bakers out there it will be a struggle to decide which brooch to wear.

So I hope you find something I have created that you can wear and love over the Christmas season. These fabulous Christmas brooches and many more are available from 7pm AEDST (Melbourne, Australia) Friday 8th November, 2019.

Luv
Alex
